The NSW School of Languages (SOL)

The main purposes of SOL are to assist students to extend their curriculum options and maintain continuity of study, particularly when transferring between schools. Courses also offered for Heritage and Background. There is a strict limit to the number of students that can enrol per school per calendar year. Applications for enrolment should be made in Term 3 and the appropriate fee paid at the time of application. Approval is not automatically given.

Secondary College of Languages

The role of The Secondary College of Languages is to teach students who wish to study their background community language to Higher School Certificate level and who are unable to do so in their home school.

An application for enrolment must be completed and handed to the Head of Languages before the end of the school year. The availability of courses may vary from year to year.

Currently, the courses offered at Higher School Certificate level for both beginners and those continuing language study from Year 10 are:
