The Old Newingtonian's Union (ONU) Tongan Bursary

  • Overseas Student Health cover
  • One economy return airfare to Tonga each year (i.e. in Years 10, 11 and 12)

The F. Stretton Jeffs (ON 1933) Bursary

Available for entry in Year 11, 2019

The F. Stretton Jeffs (ON 1933) Bursary offers a full fee Bursary for Years 11 and 12. It is named in honour of F Stretton Jeffs, son of a Baptist Minister, who was fortunate to be offered during the years of the Great Depression, a Newington Scholarship for his final two years of study. His son, also an Old Boy of Newington, now wishes to honour that legacy by offering the same opportunity to a boy of promise who would not otherwise have the opportunity of a Newington education.

The Bursary covers 100% of the education fees for Years 11 and 12 only and applicants will be assessed on the same criteria as the College’s Halse Rogers Bursary. Current students of Newington College are not eligible to apply for this Bursary. Uniform, textbooks, co-curricular, excursion and any other ancillary costs are not covered and would need to be funded by the recipient.
