When do applications close?
Applications for bursaries and scholarships in 2019 close 5:00 pm on Monday, 5 February 2018.
What does my son wear son on Testing Day?
Students may wear either their School uniform or neat casual clothes
What does he need to bring?
Academic Assessment Services, the company administering the testing process, will email all applicants relevant information required, as soon as they have registered their application.
When do we submit his portfolio?
Portfolios and supporting documentation with cover page attached to the front of the folder, must be submitted by 5:00 PM Monday, 5 February 2018. Portfolios must be submitted in hard copy only.
What happens if I miss the closing date?
Applications and registrations for the Bursary and Scholarship Testing Day will not be accepted after the closing date.
Can I send original documents?
Photocopies only please. The College takes no responsibility for the damage or loss of original certificates/documents.
What happens to my portfolio after the process has been completed?
Portfolios will be available for collection from Newington College Senior Reception from 1 May – 11 May 2018. The College will not be responsible for posting portfolios to candidates.
For Music Scholarships, is my son automatically granted an audition?
The Music Department will contact those candidates who will be selected and shortlisted to attend an audition at a nominated time as set by the College. Click here for a guide to the minimum recommended standard.
I live in regional NSW, interstate or overseas. Can I still sit the test?
Yes. When you register online to sit the test, you must choose either the Rural, Regional or Interstate bursary/scholarship option or the Overseas bursary/scholarship option. The Academic Services Assessment Team who administer the examination will make contact with your school to arrange for the test to be administered with supervision.
