Why Study Product Design

The course is designed for the student who enjoys applying the design process to creatively solve identified problems. Students will design and develop projects from a variety of materials and processes. Within each unit students will undertake a design brief where they will modify existing designs or develop a project of their own choice.

Students will learn to apply various technologies in the construction of a number of projects. The course will introduce students to CAD (Computer Aided Design) Drawing (CorelDraw, SketchUp, Fusion 360 and Solidworks), a variety of tools and machinery as well as the application of cool new technologies such as the 3D printers, sticker machines, and CAM (Computer Aided Machining) Woodtron and Roland milling machines.

  • Solar
  • Timber
  • Metal

Note: Boys may select only one of the two Technology electives.
